Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born on March 4 1954) is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. O'Hara has been the recipient of numerous distinctions which include a Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also was awarded two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. She was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was honored with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara was a renowned actress when she was a part of 1974 of The Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe based in Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd started work on Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara received high praise for her comedy writing and acting skills, earning her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for the Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was part of the new Second City artistic Advisory Board, which was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board were Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key. Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
