Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most well-known role is her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. After the conclusion of the seventh season the show was canceled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
